trouble installing High Sierra on Intel Core 2 quad q6600

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I am trying to install hackintosh High Sierr on my PC and I am getting this panic screen:

https://drive.google.com/open?id=1Fpe9BHqwMuaCY_7dOrtA6J5y6MQLpVu3

My pc is:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600

MB Gigabyte GA-Q35M-S2

Nvidia GeForce 210 - 512Mb

8 gb Ram ddr2

HD 1 TB divided in 3 clean partitions, no OS installed in any of them.

On the step 9 of the guide (https://www.hackintoshshop.com/2020/hackintosh-high-sierra-guide/), the only I could find in my MB was "Load Optimized Defaults". Still, I disabled the virtualization technology.

Although I read that my CPu does not have SSE4.1 Support, people with the same CPU I have, have claimed that High Sierra works nice on their CPU:

So, which Hackintosh version I can install in my PC? And, based on the panic screen I've got, what can I do to properly install it?

Thanks in advance.

I had a Hackintosh with Core2Quad Q8800 i think.

I was able to use up-to Yosemite. then upgrading was an issue.

I was not able to access your attached google drive image, make it public.

Hi Core 2 Quad Processors has no SSE 4 Instruction set, As High Sierra Requires SSE4 Instruction Set (SSE 4.1 to be precise.) It is not possible to Install High Sierra on a Core 2 Quad. I think EL Capitan and Hackintosh Yosemite can be Installed.

There are some methods in which they replace old kexts, files which has SSE3 architecture so it can be used by Core2Quad processor but in my opinion it is not worth it.

if you’re going to try el capitan, there is no distro released for it.
