I am getting ready to download the installer for my hackintosh. I'm thinking that this might be a challenge because I am using an Acer Nitro 5 specifically AN517-51-56YW for my hackintosh project. I have multiple hard drives installed so I am hoping to dual boot Windows and MacOS Big Sur on this machine. This will be my first attempt, ever, to create a Hackintosh. I have a GTX 1060i graphics card and I have integragrated graphics as well so I'm not sure if it will be totally successful. Here goes nothing! I would like to say "Thank You to the developers of this site for making it available to people like me."

  1. I do not know how to place my EFI file for my specific laptop hardware. I also would like to know which kext I am supposed to replace in my EFI file because the EFI file I have is written for an i7 cpu and I have an i5 cpu. But I also have two EFI files that between the two I am able to meet the specific hardware of my laptop. The EFI file that is written for the i7 cpu has exactly the same hardware as my laptop but I don't know what kexts I have to replace to make it work for my specific cpu. I also don't know where I am supposed to put my EFI file once I replace the kext for the CPU. Also, my EFI files are written using OpenCore configurator. Will they still work for the Big Sur Installer? Please help. I want this installation to go smoothly so I would like to have all this figured out pre-installation. I look forward to your reply.
  2. Hey there again! I am curious if the MacOS Big Sur Installer will work on a Dell Latitude E6440 It has a i5-4310M and Intel integrated graphics. It is not a 1920x1080p screen... It's old so they didn't make this model with High Resolution like that. If it can't run Big Sur can it, instead run Catalina? I am going to first install MacOS Catalina, and then if I'm able soon I will install MacOS Big Sur. I will do this because I'm not very patient and don't want to wait for the results to my inquiry before attempting a HackBook. I do, however, look forward to your answer concerning this matter. Bye for now...
  3. The macOS Big Sur installer gives directions on how to use the tool for mac. Why wouldn’t it work? Also dosdude doesn’t have a Big Sur patch yet.
  4. Will the MacOS Big Sur Installer work on my MacBook? Here are the specs: MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2009) / 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo / NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB / MacOS X El Capitan
